How do I install video card?

I've got a cheap little GeForce 7100 GS graphic card that I need to install. My computer's video card is integrated. I know I need to first disable this card. I DO know how to get into the BIOS, but cannot find where to enable/disable the onboard video.. Any help is a thanks. It's an emachines T3418 if that matters.|||i looked up t3418 and you have a pci express slot so the 7100gs is compatible, you shouldn't need to disable the on board video, just install the video card, boot up and it will say found new hardware windows will try to instill software cancel it, and install your software that came with it. you'll need to change the resolution after.

good luck!|||You don't have to disable anything, just plug the video card into the AGP slot and install drivers.|||its usually under somthing like onboard peripherals ... or integrated hardware .... just plug it in ... boot to safemode ... go to device manager and disable onboard .... then install the driver for the new card and reboot ..|||Just go to Device Manager by way of pressing the Windows flag key and the scroll lock key at the same time. This will bring up the System Properties window. Click the Hardware tab - then Device Manager. Right click your current video adapter and choose "disable."

Restart your machine - the graphics will be "funky" - just basic. Most instructions have you install the drivers first - then shut down and install the card. Restart and let Windows find the drivers on its own.|||Go to your Device Manager, click on Display Adapters and disable it from there.|||SOME newer BIOS systems do NOT need to be disabled. They will AUTOMATICALLY disable the onboard when they find the new card; (or there may be an option to allow use of BOTH with separate monitors) READ the MB docs if you have them or check the manufacturer's website.

NEWER OS's will then automatically detect the new video card and try to install the drivers. SOME cards want you to install the drivers BEFORE you install the cards, so READ the instructions.|||XP OS

Go to Ctrl Panel>Peformance and Maintenance>System>Hardware>Device Manger>Display adapters.

Click the + sign...Underneath will be the currently installed graphics. Right click it, and select uninstall..go from there..install ur new one etc: etc: Hope this helps;)
